First Update
To those who have joined this community and have extended their hand in helping out, THANK YOU.

I haven't had the chance to update the fansubbers masterpost, but I've already tried to contact some who are still fairly active. These include:

  • Jeffer ([livejournal.com profile] dvampyrlestat) - I've sent her a PM, an email, and also requested to follow her on Twitter. (Her twitter account is locked but it looks like she still updates it.) Also, all of Jeffer's subbed files are open (anyone can view them) - here's a line from her post in verbatim: No online streaming, reuploading or reposting of links outside of this LJ. Just...link back here, when you could. It's not locked, anyway. If we reupload her files and post them on the comments section, that should be okay, don't you think? Let me know!

  • Aki [livejournal.com profile] aatash - I PMed her.

  • [livejournal.com profile] nyanchan - I PMed her.

  • [livejournal.com profile] palmandgo - I PMed her.

  • Becky ([livejournal.com profile] taijiprojectsub) I followed her on twitter and left her a bunch of tweets.

Also, I'm not sure if you guys know, but [livejournal.com profile] ast_team is now working on reuploading their files!

Again, everyone, I appreciate your help. I have no idea how successful this project will be, but hopefully, we do get to retrieve some files and give back to the fandom.

If you have comments and suggestions, please don't hesitate to leave a comment. All the best!

I'm not sure about this, but I always had the impression that [livejournal.com profile] nyanchan translated episodes of AnS (e.g. this one (http://nyanchan.livejournal.com/32995.html)) but did not actually do subtitling. If ever she posted links of shows with her translations, the subtitling work were done by other people like [livejournal.com profile] techni_teddy and [livejournal.com profile] yuckie_chan. So I think it would be better to ask permission from them as well.

However, it would still be good to ask [livejournal.com profile] nyanchan if her translations can be used for subbing even if other people have already done so. It may entail a little more legwork like looking for the raw files, but at least the translation is already there.
